You Are On The Right Path! Right?

English: Blossom by the path The blossom is on...

The pathway to God is straight and narrow.  This narrow path has less travelers because innumerable obstacles will block their way. Don’t be surprised when those you may know and love are not there! Everyone else is on the frequently traveled  . . . super highway to wherever.

By way of sincere and constant prayer, you can overcome obstacles and be guided along the narrow path. Prayer helps you to advance toward God, to not lose sight of your special destiny, and to develop and strengthen your soul.

When you pray you should center your thoughts on God. You should forget the things of the world, what is going on around you, and even your own self. To forget all else except God is not easy. Effort is needed! It requires great yearning! When your heart is pure and free of your own imaginings and desires, your prayers have the greatest effect.

Another very important requirement for reaching the true state of prayer is faith. You should have complete trust in the mercy of God and be certain that He will grant what is best for you.

First Priorities First!

Priority Number One – Put God First

Putting this priority first will help with all other priorities. Okay! Well, you ask . . . How?

  • Daily Prayers (supplications) – being humble to your Creator
  • Obligatory Prayers – based on your faith or religion
  • Fixed Requirements or Holy Days – that are performed or recognized for your faith or religion

Prayers and supplications are the very water of life.  They are the cause of existence, the refining of the soul, and attaining to the utmost of joy. Know that in every word and movement in prayer . . . there are allusions, mysteries, and a wisdom that we are unable to comprehend.

Priority Number Two – Love Self

Without this priority, no other priority matters! Okay! Well, you ask . . . How?

  • Believe in yourself – If you don’t believe in yourself . . . who else will?
  • Never stop learning and seeking the truth – NEVER!!!!
  • Check your belief system from time to time – you can’t always be right!
  • Take care of important things to you-health, family, career, future, etc.

Always remember that worldly attachments and vain desires impede the soul’s closeness to God. Don’t be surprised when things are not the way you expect. All things, whether good or bad, are ordained by God.

Priority Number Three – Repeat Priorities One and Two

This priority will help you to remember your top two priorities! Without this priority, you may mistakenly take someone else’s priorities as your priority without noticing.

Monthly Affirmation ~ July

WHAT do you make a priority in your prayers?

When you pray, you are having a conversation with your Spiritual Adviser.

You need to understand that the life you are living has a higher purpose. You are seeking the answers to questions you hope will guide you to your destiny.  What you pray and how you pray is a unique opportunity to build faith, hope, and love.

Practice these daily for spiritual growth:

PRAY you talk to God

READ YOUR HOLY BOOK – God talks to you

TESTIFY – You talk for God

Your Personal Relationship

The days I don’t pray

This month’s affirmation is very powerful because it is about your personal relationship with God. Ask yourself, are you listening to what God is saying to you? What messages have you received?

Prayer is “our conversation with God.” God does not need our prayers, the progress of our souls depends on prayer, because prayer is the food of the soul. When we pray we are taking in spiritual nourishment and increasing our capacity to enjoy spiritual gifts. Just like the quote, without praying, I feel like a human who can be easily defeated.

This is the time to be honest with yourself! No one else needs to know, you can keep the answer between you and God if you like. But you must face the honest facts. That voice inside is trying to tell you something, if not already.

Is it telling you to work harder at something?  Maybe it is telling you to slow down. The voice may be telling you to start “being selfish” or maybe to put someone else first for a change. No matter  . . . take heed!

Step by Step

A man praying at a Japanese Shintō shrine.

The steps below were suggested to a believer as a method of finding a solution to problems using prayer.

Step 1:  Pray and meditate about it.  Then remain in the silence of contemplation for a few minutes.

Step 2:  Arrive at a decision and hold it. This decision is usually born during contemplation.  It may seem almost impossible of accomplishing, but if it seems to be the answer to a prayer or a way of solving the problem . . . then immediately take the next step.

Step 3:  Have determination to carry the decision through. Many fail here! The process of the decision, budding into determination, is blighted and instead becomes a wish or a vague longing.  When determination is born, immediately take the next step.

Step 4: Have faith and confidence that the power will flow through you. The right way will appear, the right door will open, the right thought, the right message, the right principle, or the right book will be given to you.  Have confidence, and the right thing will come to your need. Then as you rise from prayer, take at once the fifth step.

Step 5:  Act as though it has all been answered. Then act with tireless, ceaseless energy.  And as you act, you, yourself, will become a magnet, which will attract more power to your being, until you become an unobstructed channel for the Divine power to flow through you.

Many pray but do not remain for the last half of the first step. Some who meditate arrive at a decision, but fail to hold it (step 2). Few have the determination to carry the decision through (step 3), still fewer have the confidence that the right thing will come to their need (step 4).

But how many remember to act as though it had all been answered (step 5)? How true are these words, “Greater than the prayer is the spirit in which it is uttered.”  “And greater than the way it is uttered is the spirit in which it is carried out.”

WHAT characteristics make up your powers?

Love God with all of your mind, heart, soul and strength.  Know that power comes from God.  Ask God to show you how you can serve others using your powers and step back and watch opportunities appear.

Spend time in prayer. Prayer is the key to your powers. Use your keys to open doors and discover new treasures. Use your third eye to look beyond the surface to the deeper person inside you.

The third eye is your connection to God.  The Third Eye is not blinded by falsehood (seeks the truth), is not of this world (discernment), and perfects our hearts.
