Once again, by the time you look at the calendar, there will be only a few days left in 2014. Another 12 months have passed. Where did the time go? . . . Good question! That question depends on you! Did you accomplish any of your goals? Are you proud of yourself this year? Or was 2014 a repeat of 2013? Take time to look at “Your Year in Review” to get a better understanding of you.
Were your emotions dictated by current events? Or did you dictate your own emotions? Were you successful at being a “change agent”? Or are you okay just complaining about the way things are in your life? Did you take any risks? Or did you just play it safe. Did you put God in the equation? Or did you forget there is an entity greater than you!
The highlights of 2014 based on news reports from around the world include devastation caused by mother nature and by human nature. Prejudice and hate are flourishing. Ignorance is running rampant. And envy is the latest craze. The old ways are no longer the right way. And the new way is now old. Things hidden in the past are now in the forefront. And things done in the dark are now in plain sight.
But the highlights of humanity is that faith, hope, and love still exists! Are you one of the hopeful who spend their days in gaining knowledge, in discovering the secrets of nature, and in penetrating the subtleties of pure truth! Or are you one of the hopeless who are content with ignorance and foolishness, by thoughtless imitation, and have no issues with wasting their lives! Take time to look at “Your Year in Review” to get a better understanding of you!
Learning is not limited to a classroom environment. Learning is a continuous ongoing activity. From the moment you wake up, class has begun. The day ahead is full of opportunities to learn about yourself, your environment, and the world. Within that day you will also make mistakes, sometimes repeatedly. But that’s okay, because mistakes make you better . . . if you learn from them!
Learning from your mistakes make you stronger. You become a living example of perseverance and achievement. You have a better understanding of the truth and the facts. Learning from your mistakes makes you wiser. You teach others to not make the same mistakes you did. That experience makes you a teacher of reality whose learned how to listen and share that knowledge with others.
Learning is not limited to only your mistakes. You can learn from other people’s mistakes too. The point of making mistakes is to not repeat them again. If you make the same mistake twice, now it is a choice. Once you take responsibility and accountability for a mistake . . . the learning process begins. Mistakes are a part of life . . . forgive yourself, learn from it, and keep moving forward!
WHAT wisdom have you gained this year?
Wisdom is a deep understanding and realization of people, things, or situations resulting in your ability to apply judgments and actions. The enlightenment gained should bring to completion a clear understanding of yourself. Become emancipated from an undeveloped state of ignorance and mistakes and move forward to a state of awareness and control.
One who is wise has the knowledge and experience to make decisions that lead to a blessed life. In this last month of the year . . . reflect on the three techniques emphasized throughout the year:
Positive Affirmation: Trust God in ALL situations
Goal Setting: Goals can be big or small, few or many
Action: Doing leads you toward your goals
